JobSeeker enables whoever wants to find a job according to his preferences. You study in Spain and you like to take care of children ? Find families that need a babysitter in your city !
Our group of 5 first met and discussed over the mindmap we had made tackling the subject "Rethink moving abroad experience for students thanks to AI". Our first teamwork was aimed to decide on which projects we wanted to work. We all agreed on working on an app providing temporary jobs for international students.
While being abroad, students often need to fund their studies, they need a student job, just for the duration of their stay. We targeted international students with an international platform platform offers where students who are resident in a new country can find student jobs to finance their studies.
An algorithm will match a set of criteria to allow demand and supply to meet. For example, these criteria will include specific jobs as "server", but also duration and availability. Depending on the results, the application will show you the jobs that are geographically closest to each other. This will be done through a sharing of employer locations that will be taken into account by the artificial intelligence.
Our team started by using MindMeister which allowed us to tackle the subject "Rethink moving abroad experience for students thanks to AI". The exercise consited in expressing freely our thoughts and making links between the ideas in order to find an interesting angle to continue our project. One of our point is that students may have the curiosity to travel abroad and to disover new aspects of life, but they don't necessarly have the money in order to live cumfortably. The idea of creating an app which would enable students to find a job abroad then came.
After deciding what we were going to do, we made a first prototype on Figma. We designed the app, we chose the colours and the design of JobSeeker. We presented this prototype during a lesson. We had feedbacks from our teacher and other students.
Taking into account the feedbacks, we refined our prototype and made a
mockup. We have better designed the questionnaire. And modified the
design because it was too simple so we decided to create a prototype
that was more user-friendly.
Once our prototype was finished, we had tested our mockup. The tester made us many interesting feedbacks. Click here to see an example of one of the feedback.
These feedbacks helped us to refine our mockup. We made it more easy to use and with more details. Step by step, we finally arrived to the last version of our project : the last mockup of the app.
It could be great if users could make feedback on their employer and the other way around. If student or employer coul make recommendation this way profil or job offer would become more attractive. Also create a user complaint platforme, where a moderating team can be in charge of issues between employers and students, in order to prevent bad experiences.
We could also create a social network that could be used both by employers and students. Employers can discover close colleagues and students can meet other foreign students ! It would also be interesting to link this social media to LinkedIn.
